The Girl in the Spider’s Web (2018)

I didn’t think I could like Claire Foy anymore than I did in the Netflix series, The Crown, but I do now and seriously, can I eat her up. She is so friggin hot in this film, I may need to watch it again.

The Girl in The Spider’s Web is kind of a reboot but more of a sequel to David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It is also based on the 4th book in the Millennium book series which is written by David Lagercrantz. Lagercrantz is not the original author. The original three books were written by Stieg Larsson, which includes The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest. All three of these books were turned into movies in Sweden.

The story begins as we see Lisbeth Salander (Claire Foy) as a little girl and why she lives her family. Then we find her as an adult and already a computer hacker and she is contracted to still a program that can access codes for all the nuclear weapons around the world.

There’s a lot of players in The Girl in the Spider’s Web and can get confusing if you are not paying attention from the beginning of the movie and all the way through it. I even went back to Wikipedia to get history and facts about the movie and said to myself, this isn’t the movie I saw. But it was. It’s just that the story moves along so fast that if you blink, you’ve missed things.

This is good for the movie too. There is so much to the story that there is a lot to take in. The fast pace allows for more of the story to be told and keeps you interested the entire time.
